We are Sörmlandstrafiken, the Sörmland public transport company. Here is everything you need to know to ride with us.

Here you can read about the types of tickets available and how you can pay for them.
To buy a ticket on the bus: tap your bankcard for contactless payment. You can also buy tickets through the Sörmlandstrafiken app or from an authorised vendor – a shop or kiosk that sells tickets.
You can also buy a travel pass.

You can find bus schedules here on the website.
Look closely at the timetable if you are travelling on a weekend or holiday. The bus schedule may be different from the weekday schedule.

If you have a smartphone, you can download our app. It provides all the information you need. By using our app, you can:

Types of tickets

Bus fare is different depending on where you want to go and how old you are.

Student/youth tickets

Youthtickets are for young people between 7 and 19 years of age.
Studenttickets are avalible for students, regardless of age, as long as you study at atleast 50%-rate.
In order for the student-tickets to be valid you need a valid student-ID with the symbol below:

Travel passes

A travel pass is a plastic card you can use to load with tickets. The travel passes are only available through authorised vendors.
Most travel passes are not personal. You can lend your travel pass to someone else.
If you lose your travel pass, you can easily get a new one with all the products still intact if your travel pass has been registered on My pages.
Travel pass cards can be reused. Don’t throw your travel pass away when your products have been used – instead refill it with new products and you can use it again.

Our products

30 day-ticket: This ticket allows you to travel as much as you want within your zone of choice. The 30 day-ticket can be brought in the following categories:
- 30-day ticket adult
- 30-day youth/student. Avalible between 7-19 years of age or for students. See terms and conditions for this ticket here!
- 30-day off peak ticket: This ticket is sold with discount, regardless of age, and are only valid during off peak hours 9.00–14.00 and 17.00–24.00 monday to friday. Also valid all day during weekends and bank holidays.
24-hour-ticket: With this pass you can travel as much as you want within your zone of choice for 24 hours. If you are under 20 years of age you can buy this pass with discount. Available for one zone as well as the whole county.
Summer Vacation ticket: This ticket is for youth and children between ages 7 to 19 or students. With a Summer Vacation ticket, you can travel as much as you like within Sörmland county. When traveling with a Summer Vacation ticket, you must always have a valid ID with you as well. You can buy a Summer Vacation ticket from an authorised vendor or through our webbshop My pages.

How to pay

You can buy a ticket on your mobile phone using our app. In the app you can pay with Swish, debit/credit card or Klarna invoice.
On buses in Sörmland, you can pay with a debit or credit card through contactless payment. You cannot pay with cash.

Please keep your ticket for the entire journey. You must be able to show a valid ticket if requested by a ticket inspector. Travelling without a valid ticket may result in a surcharge of SEK 1 500.

How to buy a ticket on your mobile phone

To buy a mobile ticket, you need a smartphone. First, download our app Sörmlandstrafken. Our app is available from the App Store, Google Play or Windows Phone Store. Here are the instructions:
Download the app.
Decide how you want to pay.
You can pay your mobile ticket directly or with a debit or credit card. You can also choose to be invoiced thorugh Klarna. The invoice will be posted to you. It does not cost extra to pay by invoice. Another option is to pay throuh Swish if avalible on your phone.

Remember that you must be able to show a valid ticket at all times during your trip. If you are not able to do this, then you can be charged with a surcharge refering to the current terms and legal conditions.
We recommend that you are placed at the busstop at least three minutes before scheduled departure.

Travel Guarantee

Sometimes buses may be delayed.
If your bus is more than 20 minutes late, in some cases you may be eligible for compensation through our Travel Guarantee. More information here:

Children on the bus

Two children under the age of 7 ride free together with a ticketed rider.
Tickets for children cost the same amount as a student ticket.
You can use a student ticket until the day you turn 20 years old.
Children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult.

Free transfer to another bus

If you have a valid ticket and are riding on a city bus, you can transfer to another bus line within one hour. You can also make the returntrip without need to buy a new ticket as long as it starts within 60 minutes after your purchase.
When two buses stop at a bus stop at the same time, the rear bus will not pull forward and stop again. It will not stop to let passengers on or off.
When a bus is parked at its terminus, you may not be able to board immediately. This is because the driver is on break.
Buses stopped at their terminus may show a sign that reads "Ej i trafik" (not in service). This is because the driver has not had time to switch from the old sign to a sign showing the new destination.

Keep in mind

We at Sörmlandstrafiken want everyone to enjoy riding the bus. It’s also important for it to be safe to ride with us. These rules will make riding the bus pleasant for all:
Please give up your seat if you see someone who needs it more than you.
Do not place luggage on a seat or where it will be in the way or hazardous to other passengers.
It is not permitted to smoke, drink alcohol, rollerblade or skateboard on the bus. You may not place your feet on the seat or other parts of the bus interior than the floor.
People who are intoxicated or disruptive may be asked to get off the bus or not be permitted on board.
You are permitted to eat on the bus if you do not make a mess or leave litter behind.
You will be more visible if you use reflectors when it is dark. This enables the driver to see you waiting at the bus stop.

Animals on the bus

Dogs, cats and other small pets ride free on the bus. They must be leashed or be in a cage or bag. You are responsible for ensuring that your pet does not bother other riders on the bus.
If you are travelling with an animal, sit in the rear of the bus.

Prams, push-chairs, walkers and wheelchairs

Prams/strollers and walkers are allowed on the bus if space is available.
They must not block the centre aisle.
A bus has a limited space for prams/strollers or walkers.
The driver determines how many prams/strollers can be brought on board.
If you are travelling with a pram/stroller, secure it with the straps provided for the purpose on the bus.

When you want to get off the bus

Press the red button labelled "STOPP" when you want to get off. This lets the driver know you want to get off at the next stop.
On some buses there may be different coloured buttons with different symbols. The symbol might be a pram, a wheelchair, a person with a cane or an eye. If you press one of these buttons, the driver will pay closer attention when you are getting off. It makes no difference which button you push if you want the bus to stop. When you press one of the buttons, check to see that the sign reading "STANNAR" (stop) is lit on the screen in front of the bus. If it does not light up, press again.
We recommend that you push the button well in advance before your stop.
You can always ask the driver for help if you are unsure where or when you should get off.
